Bulgaria expects 1 billion BGN under the RePowerEU initiative

Bulgaria expects 1 billion BGN for projects under the RePowerEU program of the European Union which plans to reduce dependence on fossil fuels from Russia, announced from the rostrum of the National Assembly the Acting Minister of Energy Rosen Hristov during the parliamentary control. He specified that the projects under this new program will be integrated into the Recovery Plan and is an option for renegotiating the options in the document.

The moment the RePowerEU program is opened for negotiations Bulgaria will present its proposals Hristov assured. Currentl projects related to energy efficiency low-carbon fuels – green hydrogen and others are being prepared, which will reduce our dependence on natural gas imports.

Hristov also commented on a possible arbitration case regarding the performance of contractual relations with Gazprom. According to the minister, there is very limited and contradictory information on the first such case, conducted so far – between the Finnish Gasum and Gazprom.
