Bulgaria and Greece to sign a memorandum on natural gas storage

The Council of Ministers approved a draft Memorandum of Understanding between the Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Bulgaria and the Ministry of Environment and Energy of the Republic of Greece on natural gas storage.

The purpose of the document is the strengthening of cooperation between the two countries to guarantee the security of supply and storage of natural gas in a spirit of solidarity and mutual assistance is clear from a press release of the government.

With conclusion of the memorandum Bulgaria will be able to store and reserve slots for liquefied natural gas in Greece and Greek suppliers will be able to reserve compression and extraction capacities in Chiren according to a press release from the government press service after the regular meeting of the Council of Ministers. 

The memorandum will be concluded for 12 months and will enter into force after its ratification by the National Assembly of the Republic of Bulgaria.
