The 6th unit of Bulgarian Kozloduy NPP has been stopped

Since midnight of 10 of December unit 6 of the Kozloduy NPP has been shut down for repairs to eliminate a technical problem. It is not expected that the shutdown will lead to problems with the power supply, as our country has enough power, Angelin Tsachev – executive director of the Electricity System Operator – told BNR.

Although the 6th unit of the Kozloduy NPP will not work during the Christmas holidays, until December 26, according to the request submitted by the plant to the Electricity System Operator (ESO)

At this moment the export to the other countries in the region is over 30 thousand MWh per day and the unit at the Kozloduy NPP actually produces 24 thousand MWh per day
