Erdogan discussed the idea of ​​a gas hub in Turkey with the head of Gazprom

The head of the Russian energy giant Gazprom met in Istanbul with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, with whom he discussed the prospects for a Turkish gas hub, as well as the supply of Russian gas to Turkey, Reuters reported, citing a Gazprom statement.

Russian President Vladimir Putin proposed in October that Turkey become a center for gas supplies after the Nord Stream gas pipelines under the Baltic Sea were damaged by explosions in September, the agency reminds.

The Turkish president said he agreed with the idea.
