Turkiye offers to send floating power plants to Romania and Moldova

Turkiye offers to send floating power plants to Romania and Moldova to supply electricity to Ukraine through a Turkish floating power plant operator, in an interview with Anadolu Agency.

According to Anadolu Agency negotiations are underway for the supply of 400 megawatts of electricity to Kyiv, generated in floating power plants, which Turkey will send to Romania and Moldova, and from there to be exported via transmission lines to Ukraine.

It was noted that now no one wants to send electricity to their neighbors before new electrical capacity is added.

Romania and Moldova are countries that asked us for ships (floating power plants). Now we are telling them: ‘Let’s put these ships in your country, but send their electricity to Ukraine

Zeynep Kharezi, the executive director of Karpowership

The supply of electricity to Ukraine via Moldova or Romania is technically possible, commercially reasonable.

Kharezi also said.

According to her, the price of the offered electricity is advantageous, and “the only obstacle can be political and bureaucratic”.
