Bulgaria building a photovoltaic park near Kyustendil

The municipality of Kyustendil will build a photovoltaic park on its land of about 200 decares. The news was announced by the mayor of the city Petar Paunov. The selected terrain is located in the area of ​​Sabeslavitsa in the land of the village of Gorna Grashtitsa.

More than 20 municipal buildings have been approved on the roof of which the photovoltaic systems will be built. The municipality plans to announce an invitation to interested investors to sign a contract. Until February 22, those wishing to build the site can submit documents for participation in the office of the municipality of Kyustendil.

At the end of last year, the mayor announced, and the Municipal Council decided to start the procedure, to build a factory for solar panels on the land of the nearby village of Zhilentsi. About 100 people will work in the future enterprise, and initially 150 people will be trained in this type of production.

The Bulgarian company AE Solar Horizon, part of the German AE Solar, has requested permission to acquire a plot of land of 50,000 square meters in the Zhilenci industrial zone, and the planned facility will extend over a terrain of 12,000 square meters. The company will invest over BGN 20 million in the construction of the plant for photovoltaic panels with a total capacity of 1,000 megawatts per year and a center for scientific research and development. It is planned to build charging stations for at least 10 electric cars.

AE Solar also proposes to install solar panels on all municipal buildings in the city, which will be powered by green energy.
