Largest gas storage facility in Europe was opened in Turkiye

Opening of the expansion of the gas storage facility in Silivri, Istanbul was held on 16th of December. The capacity was increased from 3.2 billion to 4.6 billion cubic meters and was marked with an official ceremony by Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan. According to the hosts, this expansion makes the gas storage facility the largest in Europe and is an important step for energy security. 

Bulgarian minister of energy Rosen Hristov was guest and came days after the visit of the head of state Rumen Radev to Istanbul, where he held a meeting with his Turkish counterpart. One of the main topics during the visit was deepening cooperation in the field of energy.
